A few weeks back I took my Step Granddaughter to the outdoor range to shoot my real Granddaughter's 10/22 for the first time and she fell in love. I decided that a late birthday gift was in order.

So tomorrow I get to pickup the rifle and I thought I would get the bench setup since I will only have a short time to get it built and sighted in. This is the Plain Jane 10/22 Carbine with a rail and no sights. I'm going to pull it apart and drill cleaning hole in the back along with installing a new bolt buffer and a BX Trigger that already has an extended mag release and an auto bolt release. A BSA 3-9 Sweet 22 is going on top for now. Two things that are left on the conversion list that really stood out for her are the Knoxx Axiom Stock and something the will rival the Leupold VX-R Scope with the Fire Dot reticle which is "day light bright". The stock is still being made just unavailable, but the scope has been discod and they're going for $1,000+ on ebay. More to come. ;)

Bolt release mod? ( edit) that's cool the bx has it already.
I added the bolt release and mag release when the trigger showed up. I had both in the parts box already, and three more factory bolt releases standing by to convert if I ever need to.

The factory charging handles and extractors have always worked for me, so they will stay.

UPDATE:

Had the Step GD and her Cousin (another 1st time shooter) out with V-1 and they already don't need me. In fact, they got tired of the 25yd range and moved to the 50yd range where the were blowing 3/4" dots off the paper. Glad I brought the Bucket-O-Bullets. LOL The new stock came today and they both watched as I swapped it on to now V-2. :)

It will be shot off the bench most, if not all the time. My "real" Granddaughter has the exact setup and that is the gun the Step GD shot wonderfully and fell in love with. I am very confident she will not have any issues, but we'll see.
