I learned about another problem that contributes to ejection issues and MAY have something to do with the problem I had. Apparently the extractor on them has too small of a 'finger' to grab the cartridge case and in some cases it is resulting in them 'stovepiping' and not ejecting properly. While this has NOT been an issue for me I took my extractor out and can see the finger appears to be very short and a corner of it appears to be chipped off. A recommendation I read to temporarily fix it is to file the the 'flat' down to increase the size of the 'finger' to better grab the case. I did this but have already emailed Ruger and asked them if they will send me a NEW extractor but I am looking at an aftermarket one made by M*CARBO and appears to be a MUCH better extractor and I will probably order one!
Pretty dang small 'finger' to grab the brass!
