They must have been critiquing your shooting skillsI'm setting up my range, shooting into a 60' red clay bank. I hear a rustling to my 10 o'clock high, and saw that I had an audience.

I don't believe it's one of the 7 herds of Northwest California in general, and I'm pretty sure it's not the 'casino' herd in particular. Here's why, zooming in I don't see a single tracking collar, and especially not 'Nellie' a tracked cow from the 'casino' herd that has a distinctive look to her (and a limp as the poor thing got hit by a car).
Many more in Oregon than CaliforniaThat's cool they're up in Oregon too.
Awesome animals
Roosevelt or just Elk in general? Many more in Oregon than California
Roosevelt in particular, no idea about in general. They are only in 3 or 4 counties in California, but I think in all of Oregon West of the Cascades.Roosevelt or just Elk in general?
I knows guys that have hunting their whole lives and never killed a elk of any sub speciesUnfortunately for me, 90% of the elk I've seen have been outside of hunting season
Still, luckily for me, the 10% has produced a goodly amount but over 60 years.
Only one has been a Roosevelt..
