So i bought a cheap single port 9mm compensator that is supposed to clamp onto the barrel but it does not, and when it is all the way screwed on it is not timed correctly. Is it possible to rocksett it into place timed correctly with no torque against the barrel shoulder?
I have used timing shims on rifle muzzle.devices but the shoulder on the glock barrel is small and any washer or shim.used would have to tuck under the housing of the compensator.
I know...buy once cry once. One can purchase a good quality muzzle device and not mess around with such things. For me it was a proof of concept experiment to see if I would like a comp on one of my guns. On a CZ p07 urban grey suppressor host I have, the addition of a muzzle device made it much more pleasurable to shoot vs. Not having any device at all. (It doesn't have a red dot so I don't always use it as a suppressor host).
Anyway, i have this cheap single port comp and some rock sett. I guess I could use a rubber o ring simply to give some resistance when properly timed then add the appropriate amount of rockset and see if it will set up. I just thought would ask if someone here has experience using rocksett without the muzzle device being torqued down
I've used Rocksell with low torque (10-15 lb-ft), but not 0 torque. If your muzzle threads are 1/2", the smallest OD shims that I know of are 0.625". Does your pistol comp have set screws?
