I have one that is 25 miles away in Halsey. I absolutely hate it. It's costing me $59/month for about 10 boxes that could have just gone into another room. Dumbest thing I've ever bought, and it's costed me way too much in the two or three years I've had it. And because it's located outside, it has also become full of spiders....my menaces. And because I'm a fatass and out of shape with a bad back, I damn near killed myself trying to move this bubblegum out of my house and into this storage unit.

I want to close it, but I'd have to pay someone to help me move it, or do it myself and spend another $100+ on a U-haul like I did the first time. And then spend eternity brooming everything off and spraying the creepies with Raid.

Sigh.

I will throw all that away for you if you want me to.
Make it a new year's day goal.

Last year I picked up an old washer & dryer set from a storage facility near my house.
I have a dumping trailer that i primarily use for hauling scrap metal and W/D sets are my favorite, as I can fill up the insides with loose junk.
The nephew of an old aunt who had recently passed away, met me there and when we opened the 10' x 12' indoor heated space, he told me that she had rented that unit for over 12 years at $95.00 a month, and the only thing in it were the two appliances and a broom.
That's $13,680 bucks for a couple of bucks worth of scrap.

If it was me? I would just stop off every time I could get by the place. Grab something, take it with you to the nearest dumpster and toss it. In time it will be gone.

I know people who put objects in storage "temporarily" and then never got around to moving it or using it or otherwise disposing of it, and ended up paying several times over the objects' values in monthly storage rents. (Not me! Not talking about a "friend." :D Actual people I know! )
