It's the perfect trench warfare gat.Does the high-bore axis of the 226 make it funky to shoot compared to the lower bore axis of the CZ?
Yea I have that one and it's a superb gun imo. These are my very first shots having never fired it before. Very suppressor friendly. Large grip size like p226.The Arex Zero for 599 with optic cut and threaded barrel looks awesome
I never thought my P226 shot funky due to the higher bore axis, but I have owned multiple Sig hammer fired guns. The first pistol I ever purchased was a P220 (I regret selling it). That being said I have a friend who dislikes the Sig hammer fired pistols for that very reason.Does the 226 bore axis feel funky with it being so high though? Does the gun jump around significantly more than a striker fired or 1911?
The slide feels like it's on ball-bearings when you rack it. The trigger is smooth with no perceptible rough spots. In your mind, what makes the Beretta the best of the bunch?
They shoot about the same for me unless we throw the P226X5 into the mix and that blows them all away !Does the high-bore axis of the 226 make it funky to shoot compared to the lower bore axis of the CZ?
I 100% agree with Stomper on this! The slide feels like it's on ball-bearings when you rack it. The trigger is smooth with no perceptible rough spots.
Same - but I am in the middle of nowhere with no way to try before buy unfortunately haha. Which is why I started the thread, trying to learn through others.I never thought my P226 shot funky due to the higher bore axis, but I have owned multiple Sig hammer fired guns. I carried Glock 22s and a Glock 17 for work for 20+ years and never had any issues switching between the Glock or any other brand of pistol when shooting.
I will say my Beretta seems like it shoots flatter than my P226. I could be imagining it.
I would recommend trying to shoot an example of the pistol you are interested in before you buy it. By doing that I would have saved myself a lot of money.
All that being said my favorite type of pistol is a 1911.![]()
The only place I've read about the high bore axis is by folks on the internet that've never owned one.Does the high-bore axis of the 226 make it funky to shoot compared to the lower bore axis of the CZ?
I had a USA one and would choke a lot my 92fs made in Italy runs like a top I just do not like the sights .The slide feels like it's on ball-bearings when you rack it. The trigger is smooth with no perceptible rough spots.
Keep in mind, mine is an OG 92F made in Italy back in '87, I've never shot a recent manufacture USA made one, although I'm sure the (commercial) QC is still generally on par with the motherland factory.
Same the P series 220-226-228-229 they all shoot! The only place I've read about the high bore axis is by folks on the internet that've never owned one.
My 226's and 220's are sweethearts to shoot. I'm glad I never read the high bore memo.
.
Perfectly summarized. There is just something that feels better all around with the ones out of Italy; perhaps it's some special high grade olive oil they use as cutting fluid on their machines? The slide feels like it's on ball-bearings when you rack it.
