Another vote for cz75 or metal copy! Or my personal favorite da/sa the makarov. They're such terrible little pistols in my opinion. but I have to fight the urge to buy every one I come across.

I've had Sig P226/229/P220 and HK USP 40 and USP 45 Compact, and Beretta 92/M9 of a few flavors. My favorite has been the 92FS.

I would say get a Beretta if you don't;t have one already. It's soft shooting even with +P ammo, and there is a tremendous aftermarket available for it. Mags are cheap and plentiful and can be found most anywhere.

Good morning folks -

I am currently DA/SA curious. I love my 1911s, Hipowers, and my M&Ps (I despise 2011s). I tolerate double action revolvers, but I either need way more time on them or they just aren't for me (they feel weird to grip compared to my autos). I am starting to get the itch for a DA/SA handgun platform to round out my handgun toolbox. Knowing what my handgun preferences are, what would you recommend and why? Has to be 9mm, and bonus if it accepts an optic easily enough. Rails are nice but not necessary.

I am looking at the following options, but feel free to throw another on there:

a) Sig 226
b) CZ-75B
c) Beretta 92FS or A1
d) HK P30

Many thanks!
I've always liked Sigs and had several. Presently have two P-239's. The reason is no safety and a decocker lever. I also have a P-30 with a rail that I use as a nightstand gun. It has a light on it that's pretty handy. I wouldn't want to carry that one though. Lots of options with those as they have various trigger configurations. Mines V-1 LEM which I wouldn't recommend if you want true DA/SA configuration. The system works well however. Just takes some time on that trigger.

I personally really like the LEM trigger, particularly with the Grayguns Short Reset System. It's a very worthwhile upgrade for under $100.

FYI here is a comparison of the grand power x-calibur (DA/SA) to a modified shadow 2. The one in the video is the optic ready version.

Beretta 92s or PX4 are awesome. The Langdon versions are REALLY nice! I've also found the 80x to be an amazing shooter, but it is .380. It rivals my Langdon Berettas. I've run through most DA/SA options over the past 10+ years and this is where I've landed, FWIW.

If you're on a budget, the Bersa TPR9c shoots pretty darn well. I haven't tried the full-size, but I'm sure it's good too. The SAR USA has several DA/SA. I've had the CM9 and the SAR K2 in .45. If you like .45, the K2 is really damn good. The CM9 is solid for the price.

I have a HK USPc .40 S&W and a PX4 9mm. Love both of them.

Suggest checking great deals section for screaming deal on a superb da/sa handgun.
I wish I liked the Sig style of gun...but the CZ is what I have settled on based on a range day between the two. Though I am still Beretta 92 curious. I am specifically looking at the Wilson and LTT 92's.

Love my Beretta 92FS Centurion (G) Decocker

Overall feel and performance for me is absolutely outstanding. Then again so are my CZ's. What I really like about it along with my other 92FS's are the magazine compatibility with my CX4 Storm.

Less actually due to its design features. It is smoother and flatter. Then again it is about how a person grips, hand positioning, etc. I shoot with a tight main hand grip up all the way up the back strap, with the support hand (palm) pressed firmly into the opening side of the left grip panel, thumb forward and four fingers firmly overlapping the right hand (if that makes sense). Also arm extension and positioning of elbows.
