I've been amazed that even people who are supposed to be gun experts, get this wrong. Also it irritates me when such people use the word "bullet" to denote a cartridge. Why? It makes no sense.

Speaking only for myself ...
The most irksome thing about using the incorrect term ...
Is not the incorrect term or usage itself...
Its when someone knows the difference or correct usage , but insists on using the term wrong.

That said....
There ain't much I can do about it..so if they insist on being wrong...then that is on them....:D

On a more serious note...
When an incorrect term is used , and leads to false assumptions or "knowledge"...then that is a real issue.
Terms like :
Fully semi-automatic....
Assault Weapon..
Modern Musket...
Musket ( used when viewing any muzzle loading firearm )...

All of the above terms , can have a specific meaning to someone that may be different to someone else...or be a term that in and of itself is not correct for anything.
In either case the incorrect use of the term or the term itself can lead to a false sense of knowledge about a item or topic.
