form 1 that thing
Can I borrow $200?

Seriously though... not a bad Idea. think of all the fun I could have with this thing if I could build my own integrally suppressed sbr...
At this point IDK what to do with it... kinda want to leave it alone til I get more definitive info on it.

looks like it was a carry handle upper that they milled off...its cool:cool:
Definitely was... they milled it down leaving a small nub of the carry handle sticking up in the back to fit inside a slot the rail piece... then ran a roll pin though it, and tapped in a few screws along the length as well... Pre dates Piccatinny, but it does accept some pic accessories.. same width, but notches are not spaced the same...obviously.

Could try and fix the spacing issue in areas where there's a lot to cut out.

Since Olympic went TU, I'd say it closely resembles a paperweight. And with their QC, that's probably all it's good for anyway. :D
Well it was one mighty valuable paperweight to a guy in Arizona.
I traded it straight across for this pile of old M16 swag...

Oh... and a Colt BCG, front takedown pin, retro castle nut, 2fsbs, and a new old stock Colt Grip(1980's) 9533809A-2271-4B22-A8F8-D6584EA95AD0.jpeg 9417B18D-84B7-46DB-82E2-F21CA7A5244B.jpeg 0D0FAD39-EEFE-4BA0-A22F-6867E4389AB4.jpeg
He also threw in a LMT M203 flip up ladder sight and grip...

....And this Old Scope... IDK... not sure what it's worth. But since I traded it for a boat anchor, I guess at the very least I can throw it on my daughters B.B. gun... if I can find the right mount..

The scope is meant to be attached to the AR15/M16 carry handle. A real Colt 3x20 goes for a pretty penny.

If I had cash I'd have offered to buy it from you so it would eventually go to the right rifle. But gotta save up till I can find work again. Cause unless you graft a carry handle to the bb gun, there won't be a mount for it.

I hope you included a Hershey's Kiss for that guy, because he bubblegummed himself! ;)

If I was the guy I would have held onto the scope alone. That's at least $300, if you wanna sell it fast. o_O Probably more for a U.S made one. But no idea so don't quote me on that.

It's the early Japan made..fine cross hair, in box with the instruction sheet...
Closer to $600
Only the USA made in the red box are more valuable.

I see a lot of em for $400-$600... Sometimes lower (they don't last long at that price though, for obvious reasons). But haven't seen any of the U.S made ones for sale... Maybe they aren't around enough for me to see being sold.

I'd just use it on that upper you got. Why not go retro and have yourself an A1 sniper clone?

I got the Colt stuff he got the Olympic Arms Prototype Upper.
It's what he collects, and he had to have it. I thought it pretty interesting, and thought I got it for a steal at the time...
Look at it this way...
Olympic was like the KelTec of the 80s and 90s... and like keltec, when you push innovation without really working out all the bugs, you get a bad rep for Quality. But look what OLY did to theAR industry.. Pioneered the ar pistol, and pistol caliberARs... and free float handguards...some claim they invented the flat top upper. With this in mind that piece has many things going for it...
That said... I still fell I made out OK;)

Nah, they started the commercial flat top but flat tops were there before that. Folks would cut the carry handle and bolt rails to the upper, Colt experimented with a flat top as well but theirs was machined into the upper.
