Every once in a while you come across something so strange that it defies explanation...
We were told it is some sort of prototype from Olympic Arms, but for what? Any Ideas?
My guess is maybe was meant so have some sort of suppressor device attached. There Barrel is solid inside some weird steel sleeve. Very heavy. It's early because it's not even a typical M4 upper... Pre/early pic rail? Interesting to say the least!

Since Olympic went TU, I'd say it closely resembles a paperweight. And with their QC, that's probably all it's good for anyway. :D

Don't be h8n' on my toys!
:D

They did make a lot of crap, but they were very innovative.. and not all bad. stuff like this from their R&D is pretty cool if you ask me...

From Wikipedia...

Olympic was the first to introduce features now seen as commonplace on AR-15 rifles. It was one of the first companies to produce free floating aluminum hand guards, pistol caliber conversions, and AR-15-based pistols. Olympic manufactured many AR-15s in calibers other than the standard 5.56×45mm. Olympic was the first in the industry to offer AR-15-style firearms in 9×19mm and .45 ACP, 10mm Auto, 7.62×39mm, and the Winchester Super Short Magnum cartridges.[1]

I don't care what Wiki says, Olympic Arms was crap. Plain and simple. No hate, just the facts. :)

can cannon prototype that the ATF said are a no go because to easy to make a suppressor?
There's a thought... who knows what they had threaded on the end of this thing.:s0092:
I know a guy that knows a guy that worked at Oly... he took some pics and sent them to him to try to seee if he recognized it or had any clue if it is even from Olympic.

I dont know what it is, but I still want it.
That's exactly what I said when It came across my table:D
Was a slow day at the gunshow yesterday, so after we got it... it got passed around to all the other vendors to try to make sense of it, and they all said the same thing too...
