Another BreakFree CLP user since the mid 1980's. Though I've experimented with others, the mainstay is BF CLP. It just works and works well. At least so far…. And I've grown fond of it's scent…

I've never used it, but Eezox is often in the winner's circle in the corrosion tests.

Motor oil is a lubricant, so it works to lubricate, but it's a poor choice for use in firearms. So yes, if you're using it, it's fine, but you shouldn't just be looking to do basic lubrication.

This is what I use on guns that I don't shoot often. Clean with CLP then apply Eezox. Great stuff.

Didn't know that, thanks. I remember I tried it and found it not nearly as effective as Break Free CLP against carbon, so I just use it for rust prevention. It's terrific at that. I may have never read the label. Or may have read it and then succumbed to CRS.
