Crazy Ivan Bolt Handle Project

I made a new friend a while back, and I told him I'm a Machinist.
He told me about a problem he had where his Mosin project wasn't running with the mount he had, even with a "sniper" Mosin handle.

The Crazy Ivan Low-Pro Mount requires a specific bolt handle to operate with, but unfortunately, they were sold out of EVERY KIND of handle they make...
So he asked me if I could make it work...
My first thought was to make an adapter plate, but after tinkering with a piece, I didn't like the idea of raising it up 5/8" to clear that bolt handle, nor did I like the idea of shaving some off of the mount to make it clear...so I had to make something like one of THEIR bolt handles...

So I got to work making a handle...based off of the picture on their website....
He knew I was a Machinist, but I hadn't told him I spent a decade TIG welding and polishing/finishing (nor that I'm LITERALLY autistic about guns), so he wasn't sure what to expect...

I did my best to keep the original stamps/markings on the bolt, and make it look like it had come from the factory like this.

I'm pretty proud of it, and he was blown away with how it turned out.
It clears the mount and looks like it belongs there.
I do love me a challenge

they were sold out of EVERY KIND of handle they make...

I think you will find they are OOS on almost all products, Karl VanKeuren (aka: Crazy Ivan) passed away January 7th, 2022 and last I heard his widow has not found anyone to help her get production back up and going

I'm the friend he made it for. He did incredible work the pictures don't do it justice. He also fixed the improperly mounted Ivan scope mount. Highly recommend getting in touch with him for trades or work!!
