Should be the "same," but the tolerances do vary a bit. LP primers average between .2100" to .2120", and LR primers between .2105" to .2130", for a variance of .003".
That might not sound like a lot, but if you were at the max size tolerance, and the primer sleeve was on the minimum side of whatever tolerance they are manufactured to, I could see a tight fit.
And, it would still be interesting to see what Oregonhunter5's primers measured out at....
 
I also use a handheld priming tool, now...
But, when I started handloading, I used the priming arms that came with my single stage press, with no problems, for hundreds upon hundreds of properly seated primers.
No need for the leverage, true, but a guy should be able to use the options that come with his press without problems...
