Question. It seems the primer holders that came with the rock chucker don't except the large magnum rifle primer. True?

Doesn't the press come with small and large primer plugs and sleeves?

It did. And I just made it work.
But the primers seemed a bit large for the holder.

Large pistol and rifle as well as the respective magnum primers should all be the "same" diameter.

Should be the "same," but the tolerances do vary a bit. LP primers average between .2100" to .2120", and LR primers between .2105" to .2130", for a variance of .003".
That might not sound like a lot, but if you were at the max size tolerance, and the primer sleeve was on the minimum side of whatever tolerance they are manufactured to, I could see a tight fit.
And, it would still be interesting to see what Oregonhunter5's primers measured out at....

    They are measuring .2105
They just sit above the rim of the primer holder, so hat made my a litttle nervous.

I don't even attempt to use the primer assembly in my rockchucker.

I prime by hand with an RCBS classic hand held. To properly seat a primer, there is no need for the leverage a R/C provides.

I also use a handheld priming tool, now...
But, when I started handloading, I used the priming arms that came with my single stage press, with no problems, for hundreds upon hundreds of properly seated primers.
No need for the leverage, true, but a guy should be able to use the options that come with his press without problems...
