Setup both so they can be used 3 ways...laser, passive and white light shooting.

NVGs - Set them up so with a slight tip of the head you can see out from underneath them. This helps with quick transition from IR to white light.

Contrary to popular belief, using a white light now and then with the NVGs on is not going to damage the tubes.

With the above in mind, setup your optic so it can be used with passive shooting, meaning be able to look through the optic with the NVGs...hence all the higher sight mounts we're seeing.

Then, don't use the NV setting on the optic. If you have it set on NV then need to switch to white light, you'll have no aiming point through the optic. Instead adjust the powered reticle to be seen with white light, but not over power the NVGs when passive shooting...find the happy medium.

Give yourself as many engagement options as you can, then practice seamless transitions to each.

C ya out on the range.
