I seen a guy watch a squirrel running along a telephone wire.. he couldn't handle the stress and had a heart attack and died.
Also a true story.

I was watching a video yesterday and it said the average working man that paid into SS all his working life is getting $1,400 a month. The same video is saying the border jumpers are getting $2,200 a month and never paid a dime into the system.

That's the kind of spending that produces inflation.

That's what crossed my mind. WE, you and I suppose, don't know just how much give away is out there. I've never looked for anything. There were times I had to make a deal with PP&L to make partial payment on my electric. Winter was lean, and things were better in the summer. They got paid. Now I suppose you can't run a balance? You sign up and state will just step in and pay the bill for you. Of course though, those that pay their full bills get to pay a little extra?
If ya' got kids, I just bet there's all kind of programs for you, so you don't have to pay full price, if any, on a lot of things! Just a little extra from all those people that do pay their bills.

This should help ease inflation.

I hope Rice's whales taste like chicken.

That depends on a lot of things. I have four, and we don't get a break. We pinch pennies, drive old cars, rarely eat out, don't take vacations, etc., but we're not "poor" enough for any handouts, at least as far as I know.

When I went back to school after the '08 crash, local community college, I learned a lot about how many people out there are milking the system for all it's worth. I remember standing there before class one day, talking to another guy in the electronics program. He had it all figured out, worked his regular job only so much so that his annual income was under a certain amount, then another under the table job or two, then the programs and benefits for his kids. The kicker was when he said he and his wife never actually got married, because if they did it would affect her government benefits!

I guess that makes me a sucker for working my butt off, paying my taxes and not milking every government program that I could find.

Yep, America, those who contribute the most get the least.

That's exactly what I was talking about. But I do feel that in the last three years it has to have become much more difficult for people that already were working hard to get where they wanted to be in 20-30-40 years. The current crop in DC and our states on the wet coast have caused many people to see their hard work squandered on the lazy and undeserving.

I think I can safely say there will be a glut in this market before too long. When these things start getting taken back since the buyer can no longer pay there will be a LOT of them with low mileage dumped on the market.

If you have cut spending due to inflation, in what areas have you made the cuts?
It sounds very selfish of me, but I have cut back on investing in people, and almost all charitable contributions. And probably at a time when the people, described in my statement that follows, need it the most.

And a comment to your "I'm rich sort of" thread...

When some people make observations and/or complain, they aren't doing so out of concern for themselves. Some are concerned for the health and well-being of their elderly family members, the young, the infirm, and the lesser fortunate within their community.

How can we expect people to pull themselves out of a hole...while the representatives, of the citizenry, are busy spending on the manufacture of shovels.

About a month ago I ordered 2 gallons of stain from Home Depot for about $52. Went on line to order a couple more tonite and the price for a 2-gallon pack has gone up to $85. After picking my jaw up off the floor I did a search and could not find it anywhere for less than $42 a gallon. 60% increase in 1 month!

I come from a third world country. Based on what I've seen and what I know, we haven't seen anything yet.

I truly hope I am wrong but it doesn't appear that way. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Again, I really hope I am wrong and things won't get worse.

They keep printing money, and the sheep don't see a problem with it. Do you ever wonder why we pay taxes when they can just print money?

Something is a foot and we have front row seat tickets to the freak show like Carlin said.

Expect the worst and hope for the best. I invest in my own future, and I don't depend on some jerk at some investment company to have my back.

Guns, gold, and a getaway plan. I adopted that way of thinking thanks to Gerald Celeste. Oh and, when it all fails, they take you to war.

May the lord have mercy on us and all the innocent people around the world, because we are gonna see some sh!t most haven't seen. Venezuela, here we come.
