I'm sure many of you already know, but the emails from OFF contain embedded tracking elements to track when you open the email and when you click on a link. A third party provider is used to collect this information (Constant Contact). While OFF may (and probably is) be responsible about what they do with the information they get, I doubt that Constant Contact is, and they get more than what they give to OFF.
After a brief email exchange with OFF, they expressed their unwillingness to change this, and as a result I have unsubscribed from their email list and, unfortunately, will not be giving them further donations. I can not support an organization that exists to protect one of our rights while violating our privacy and claiming that it is necessary to win the war.
