always have used power bait or velveta cheese for trout/Kokanee. might be worth talking to a locals to see how deep they're hitting(could get a couple that say to pound sand). we set our downriggers to 60' at detroit with good success for kokanee. GOOD LUCK! rip some lips man!

Have confidence in your fish finder to locate a school then drop a jig, if no bites then drop down a little further and so on.
