I have a very early Ruger 10/22 in near perfect condition. The metal buttplate is fairly slick and slips on my shoulder. I don't want to modify the buttplate. I want to replace it with a plastic buttplate and spray on a lightly abrasive coating which would approximate a Talon Grips strip. I have tried the Talon Grips strips, which work, but look ugly because they are difficult to cut accurately. I want to spray on, or paint on, a coating covering the entire surface of the buttplate that will do what a Talon Grip patch does. A good tacky rubberized surface would also work. Any suggestions? Thanks.
