I have decided to go another route, shot on rifle only 10 times, works, no scratches on it and still working on original batteries. My wife (I really love her) decided that we as a family need night vision last Christmas. Well we are not using it since its mounted on a rifle. I would like to find something more family friendly to use/ pocket portable.

Its considered a gen 1.5 almost like gen 2 due to the improved brightness at the distances you can see at night.
