If you have a common name, (think something like Robert Williams, to make up an example) odds are you share that name with dozens, perhaps hundreds of people, some of whom have likely have a criminal record.
I just happen to know a guy by that name who lives in Portland. I also happen to know it takes him forever to get approval. I wonder why... :s0140:

Too funny, if unfortunate. According to a quick google search there are more than 39000 people with that name in the US, with nearly 900 of them Oregon alone.

This seems to be the consensus. If you have a common name, (think something like Robert Williams, to make up an example) odds are you share that name with dozens, perhaps hundreds of people, some of whom have likely have a criminal record. So you'll have to be manually reviewed to make sure you're not one of them. If you have an unusual name, it's less likely.

There are exceptions though! I typically get instant approvals, but sometimes it's the gun that causes a need for manual review. For example if it shares a serial number with a gun that's been reported stolen (e.g. different make and/or mode).
Mine could have taken an hour this last time because I had three of the same model of pistol. I bought one to shoot and two for parts. They only made this particular gun model for about 18 to 24 months (SW40F). They were $180, !99, and $250 each respectively. Looking for a Colt All American 2000 next.

Reporting in that the queue is a nice low 20's right now. I initially went into the queue, and was like bummer, 20-30 min wait. But then a few seconds later the store employee was like OH NEVER mind, they moved you out of the queue to instantly approved! I was like, yeah, they probably realized OH WAIT THIS IS BOLT_308!! ;-)

Picked up a Standard Manufacturing Color Case Hardened 1911. HOLY CRAP- this thing looks SOOO much better even in person! When the gun store employee opened to box and fancy cloth wrap, he instantly was like 'holy cow, I should be wearing gloves for this one!'. He literally wouldn't touch the metal, only touching the wood grips lol!

It is beyond awesome, and so well made. Everything is just tight and perfectly machined. This gun hits WAY higher than its price for sure! I know some think it is too much color, but once you see it in person, it is just fantastic . . .

That's a pride flag

Reporting that the NICS queue remains nice and low. Another instant for me, but it might have been because probably Oregon has never seen a freaking gun like this before, and mistook it for a lunchbox . . .

ITS HERE!! Tactical LunchBox- the long awaited Zev/Magpul FDP!! 18 years in the making, finally arrived, and I got the first batch of pistol variants in the very first drop that sold out in under 3 minutes- serial #84. Even got the Zev Tactical Fanny Pack- my new EDC! ;-). Remember using this in Call of Duty, and them promising it WAYYY back in 2008 Shot Show. Well they are finally here- my new fidget spinner . . . ;-)

PS- anyone know a good cerekote guy who can do Transformers Lunchbox themed cerekote? #AskingForAFriend . . . ;-)

How on earth does that count as a pistol?? What'd it set ya back? And most importantly, does it take Glock mags???

Pistol version the rear plate folds in. They are going to come out with a retro stock kit for SBRing it later. Cost is $1699.

And YES IT TAKES GLOCK MAGS! (Although since it is a Magpul collab, it comes with 'Glock style' Magpul GL-9 Pmags. The 21 rounders fold into the gun and deploy perfectly! ;-)

Another instant (not to brag) but overheard the person in front of me being told they were #80 at around 1pm today. Longer than usual, the natives must be restless.

The queueth remains v'ry low even but now- buyeth thy sw'rds while thee can!

"Peace? Peace. I hate the word, as I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee.
"
~Tybalt Capulet ( Jon Leguizamo)

You all know I love movie guns- well I had to get this one from my childhood. Those of us in the right era will remember Baz Lurmans 1996 movie interpretation of Williams Shakespeares Romeo + Juliet, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Claire Danes, and Jon Leguizamo (and a small part from an unknown actor at the time, a one Paul Rudd!).

The beginning of the movie features a gun battle, where swords are replaced with gold gilded pistols. I just HAD to recreate the iconic Tybalts Rapier!

The guns he used were modified chrome Taurus PT92's, with gold accents, and iconic blue Virgin Mary grips. He mounts a red dot later in the scene. Wicked Grips now sells a remake of these grips, and so all I needed to do was source a gold highlighted PT92, which I picked up yesterday, easy peasy!

How many of you remember watching this movie in English class?

A few of you may love it, some may hate it- but if you do, "A PLAGUE ON BOTH YOUR HOUSES!!" ;-)

Never heard of it.

Graduated high school 1973. Pickups in the student parking lot, rifles and shotguns in rifle racks. Never was one stolen. Or used to shoot up the school.

Reporting that the NICS queue remains nice and low. Get your Blasters now while you can, and join the Alliance, you Rebel Scum!

"Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid."
-Han Solo

My new Blaster- Han Solo's DL-44!
(CMMG DL-44: real working/firing CMMG replica). First thing I plan on doing tonight is shooting tracer rounds off my deck!

(PS- anyone who comments that the real DL-44 is based off the Mauser C96- dont worry, I know. I have one of those in the works as well- but just not wanting to cut up a historical C96 just yet! ;-0 )
