Reporting that the queue remains nice and low today, with very little wait time. Another instant approval for me.

Picked up this nice ankle carry revolver . . . S&W Model 29 6" 44 Magnum. . .

"But seeing as this is a 44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question; do I feel lucky? Well do ya, punk?"

Most recently 18th in the queue....took about fifteen minutes or so....maybe twenty.

Ruger Max 9, Mossberg Maverick 88 Security. Nothing fancy, but the Ruger *could* be an OK pocket gun (I have some doubts out of the box, but we'll see) and the Mossberg is just a regular Mossberg. No damages in transit.

(Not naming names but that pawn shop's a rip off. Forty bucks for *each* transfer plus ten for the background, so $90 total. I should have looked them up more carefully, but oh well.)

Lately been wanting one. But -2 prices are going through the roof.

Idk, I haven't been put in the que for the last year or so. I just use my CHL as my form of ID, and have never been put in the que since. I only get put in the que when some places insist on using my ID with it (which doesn't have my updated address on it) even though just the CHL is an acceptable piece of Identification. My last 4 purchases within this last month were all instant.

I've never presented my CHL or my retired LEO credentials, but in the last 12 months (44 bgcs) I've never failed to be instantly approved. I had no idea that wasn't normal... seems normal to me, but it did often slightly miff other folks that had been there much longer than me. I have no idea why there is a wait - in 1967 I remember dad talking about how quick NCIC (<72 hrs) was. By the '80 I could expect about an hour, and after the update in '99 was down to about 3 minutes on average.
