I'm solidly Team Red DotEver since I got my 1st red dot a year or so ago, Ive been mulling over having it cut and considered it more after putting one on my xmacro. Game changer for sure for me.
Not sure I want to do it or not but still on the table.
I am as well but Im been dragging this beloved Sig around for 20 years and not sure I can do it to her. I believe Sig does have a cut slide I can buy I could find a used slide and cut it.I'm solidly Team Red Dot
If your undecided and want to keep the original design, upgrade to a green fiber optic front sight... the difference is amazing, as if its one step below a red dot.I am as well but Im been dragging this beloved Sig around for 20 years and not sure I can do it to her.
I went thru a similar situation with my eyesight. I found that I see a fiber optic front sight with blacked out rear best as far as iron sights go, but I found that a red dot sight was even better if I was willing to mount one on that particular firearm. Another advantage of having a dot sight is that you can also make adjustments for point of impact variations when using different ammunition types. As I get older Im not loving my Sig P220 iron sights.
Anybody "uograded" their sights for the same reason? Love my red dot on my Xmacro but thats not an option for the P220.
Primary use is just range use and some low level steel competitions so low light at times.
I have a EGW plate on a sar k12 and works good. Cut slide is always better of course. As mentioned in an earlier post, I also have used a dovetail mounting adapter on a pistol I was not willing to permanently mill the slide on. It sits a little higher than I would prefer, but I have gotten use to it and it works fine.
