Got it in today, but it was rainy and dark, so no range time.
Overall impressions are very good. I was really worried about the thicker slide, but it is not noticeable. If I was carrying a G19 everyday, then the G23 would be nearly identical.
Trigger was very good out of the box with a pull right around 5 lbs. My Gen 5 G19 has a polished assembly and is a bit lighter, but the G23 trigger actually felt better with less creep and was smoother.
The holster I ordered for it off of Amazon did not fit, of course. I emailed the company asking if it would fit the new Gen 5 G23 with the thicker slide and they said it would. It would not. Whatever, works perfect for the G19.
But my old Blackhawk CQC leather holster was a perfect fit, so I will use that until more options are available...
Overall, very happy with the pistol. Just plunk tested some reloads with the 200gr GDs and 180gr FMJs loaded to factory spec 1.125" and they plunked fine, but there is a LOT of play in the chamber. That may be an issue, but I will have to see how it shoots.
