Hello Everyone!

I wanted to let you guys know that it is I that is in need of guns and ammo help. First off, the project that is at hand is a game that me and my fellow artists/programmers are creating for the mobile phone (Droid, iPhone, etc..). There will be 4 types of game: White Tail Deer, Kodiak Bear, Elk and Moose. So, what I need is a list of guns rating from average(beginner) to best(mods if needed). We figured a total of 12 guns and it's corresponding ammo (3 for each animal). The more detailed, the better. Remember, we are artists and programmers and need guidance from the best in order to accurately portray these in a 3D environment.

Thank You!

First off here is a link for ammo balistic.Just pick any that you want for the calibers people add on here
<broken link removed>

The lighter bullets are for smaller game and the heavies are for bigger game.

So for a white tail it would be a
243,270,30.06
these could be from a 140g in the 243 to a 180g in the .06
(just pick the weights and grains from the charts, most all will kill a white tail)

The other three would most likely fall into the same calibers. They are about the same in weight, difficulty to kill and distances you may have to shoot them at. (IMO,these will vary)

So,for me it would be
30.06,300 Winchester mag,338 Remington Ultra/340 Weatherby mag

These would most likely be 180g to say 200g?
(again just pick the ones you like from the charts. The 30.06 would need to be on the heavy end,the others don't matter)

Heck add the whole ballistics table in the game and let the players pick the load they want
(hint,it will be the fastest ones)

Good luck with the game

.375 H&H
.375 Dakota
.375 RUM

In there some place?

Maybe. I'd assume that he meant .375 H&H in a Winchester. There is a .375 Winchester, but it's not a mag.
I'm only being curious as to what he meant, not trying to pick a fight.

By the way, there is another and like the Dakota it does not have the word Magnum in it's name.

.375 Ruger.

I'll put up my list, sort of in order of power, but not sure where the shotguns go....

.22LR (rifle and pistol)
.380 (little pistol)
.45 (1911) :s0155:
.41 Mag (revolver)
7.62x39 (SKS)
30-30 (rifle)
30-06 (rifle)
.375 Ruger (rifle)
20 and 12 gauge shotguns

.17 air rifle, .22 long rifle, .223 ranch rifle, .243 various configurations, .257 various configurations, .270 various configurations, .30 cal various configurations, .338 various configurations. is there really any end to this? the list goes on.

yes the list goes on and on, but what is the best list for the phone game and for the animals listed.so pretend you got a new phone and there was a hunting game, what gun would you want to start off with and what gun end up earning at a high level?

Yeah, but it is really subjective. I know guys who like using a round like .270 for many things and swear by them. Then there are the .308 guys, 30-06, .300 win mag, and so forth. Heck, if there is an ultimate hunting rifle, the .50 is it(not muzzle loader). It will take anything down and depending upon what you shoot at(a squirrel will be just a puff of mist, an elephant will take the round and go down{I think, have never shot an elephant}) . As for game, some people just love shooting coyotes or ground hogs. .22 or .223 is enough for that. Some guys like to use smaller rounds to take bigger game just to test their skill, thrill of the hunt and all that, or it may be all they can afford. Other guys love the bigger rounds, for the bigger game and don't have any enjoyment with the smaller stuff.
Better yet, why limit it to rifles. I know several people that hunt exclusively with pistols. Or even some people don't use scope, go iron sites all the way. Maybe having a few bolt action military style mausers, or even old style breech loading sharps buffalo guns. Or lever guns vs. bolt actions vs. semi autos.
I guess now I know why I am not a game designer or programmer, just a gamer.
