Quick update,
I tested all the cylinders/coils and I have good spark so I ruled that out. Neighbor came over with an actual scan tool and was able to determine that whatever is causing the issue is isolated to the intake (he's pretty sure). Unplugged the MAF sensor amd checked it, no change in idle speed or sound which we both thought was odd.
He noticed the purge solenoid mounted on top of the intake manifold itself was knocking audibly, so I picked up a new solenoid and will update this thread as soon as I have more info.
