I hear you. OR (At least Portland area) is nothing like it used to be.Native Oregonian, I've had enough. Moving to Utah... Good luck.
When are you moving? What part of Utah?Native Oregonian, I've had enough. Moving to Utah... Good luck.
Unfortunately, I'm stuck here because of my job, but if I were moving, this is most of what I need to know:

If it's not dark red, I'm not moving there.
Edit: I'm not a native Oregonian. I've lived here about 5 years. If Oregon was a red state, it would be paradise.
This is the norm. People who vote for top down soon turn the place they live into a sewer. So those with means up and move to a place that was freedom loving. Problem is as soon as they get there they start to vote to turn the new home into the same sewer they left. What makes it worse is so many freedom loving people either help the wrong people win or refuse to vote at all, so the sewer wins. What is beyond the scope of most, is that during the late 1970 and 1980s there was a mass exodus of Californians escaping the damage they have done to California to only damage Oregon like they damaged California. If we pay attention Texas has been Californiated and it is barely conservative. Arizona ? Nevada has been destroyed, Idaho is like a snow ball in hades from the Californians. Not all Californians are bad, just most from the cities.

Not being a native and moving here as a part time resident, there is a lot to like about Oregon, but the political climate is not one of them. I hope that your move to Utah is all you want it to be, I know that in the near future I will be leaving when I am done working, its really a shame how progressives and socialists have ruined the Pacific Northwest. I can only imagine what it was like here 50 years ago.

50 years ago Oregon was like watching a 1950s movie .
