It would seem to me that as long as you use ammo with a good crimp it shouldn't be an issue

most factory ammo isn't crimped to prevent those kind of backwards forces. most are crimped just enough to prevent setback from normal forward feeding, which is normally pretty easy and only requires a light crimp. to prevent a bullet from being pulled out backwards requires a substantial crimp. substantial crimps can also cause headspace issues.

there is no saami "spec" for 9x19 that specifies the amount of crimp. therefore there is no "spec" to meet that will guarantee it won't fail in the boberg.

S&B is absolutely positively 100% NATO and SAAMI "spec", but they list it as incompatible. o_O

the boberg is a clever and innovative design, but it does have its drawbacks.

blaming the ammo is silly as 9x19 was never designed to handle this.

some of the same ammo is listed under both incompatible and compatible... o_O

if you read the boberg page, you'll see some people having problems with listed compatible ammo also.

plated bullets are off limits for the boberg, which means no cheap reloads. i understand this isn't intended to be a range gun but it does reduce its versatility for training.

I'm defending it because I've not seen any problems. The Hornady ammo I use has worked fine. Plus the bullet does not even contact the part of the magazine that grips in the bullet area. I dont see how it could even pull a part with these rounds. For me its not a problem just to buy the right ammo that works with it rather than being obsessed that it work with every known manufacturer.

I want one for the collection. I wouldn't even need to shoot it. Just get it before it's gone. And hang on to it like I have other unique guns.

It could just sit with my guns like my COP, Rohrbaugh. and HK p7.
It's fun pulling out a strange 30-80 year old gun and sharing it with someone who has never seen one.;)
And cheaper to buy when there still being made.
