Like the OP, i didn't get the 1911 thing either. When I decided to get one I found a Randall A111. Then my girlfriend bought a Kimber Ultra Eclipse. Then I got a Ruger SR1911 and she got a Kimber Eclipse Target II. They are all excellent. I think the Ruger is about the best buy there is on a 1911.
