Circle 11 is Radom factory Poland.
Polish and Hungarian m44s were some of the best built.
I would say $500 easy in the milspec market of today.
Considering people pay $350 for a run of the mill 91/30

Thank you for the info, this was purchased back in 2000 for $79 out of a barrel full of them. I don't know why I bought it and never shot it. What does the 1952 stamped on the receiver below the circle 11 indicate?

Amazing what people will pay for Mosins nowadays. I've had a bunch of them, loved them when they could be had for $49 at Big 5, back 20+ years ago, or even $99 for a nice looking one with all the extras.

They hold a special place for me; I still have my first one, my first milsurp rifle ever I think, a Finish M28 that cost me $65 back in the early '90s. I was young and stupid back then, how I wish I hadn't decided to clean it up by sanding and refinishing the stock...

Those M44s have the most satisfying report of any rifle I have ever shot. Nice full sound like dropping a boulder into a swimming pool. And the occasional fireball too. I've had two of them and they vary widely in quality. I'm thinking that Polish gun is going to be a really good shooter. It looks clean.
