Ammo is not bad to find. Surplus at gun shows or mail order. Commercial at various places (my local Bimart carries it).

As far as condition, I have handled the ones that Coctailer has (when I chose and picked-up mine) and they are in great shape. Pretty much a "new" rifle. (Only reason I say new in quotes is they were made around the time of WWII or so).
