Why do people on here go out of there way to come up with a specific series of events that works out in the negative. This law was supposed to go in effect on Jan 1 2023. It's been over 3 years and it still is not in effect. Everytime there is a hearing or house committee or Tina kotek farts everyone on here acts as if the sky is falling. How many times have people on here acted as if it was going into effect because there was a hearing date and rushed to the store and bought a bunch of mags. Only for it to mean absolutely nothing and the court case just drug on and on. Have we still not learned that the courts move slow as hell? Nothing happens quick. If there was this massive conspiracy to pass this law specifically and the governor is in the osc's ear then why haven't they ruled yet? Why isn't it the law right now?
Nope it was all part of the plan tomorrow morning it will be the law and they're gonna come to your house and take your guns, shoot your dog, make your son gay and give you a sex change. There's no hope it's all lost.

Exactly. They need to factor in what happens if a comet strikes. Really that needs to be considered.

Go back and read the pre m114 threads from arakboss in 2022. Holy smokes, "what will ffls do if x?" "Are you going to call the state patrol today and ask them what they will do?" And on and on and on. All hypothetical time wasting it was. Finally had to put him in ignore just to avoid the clutter. It was exactly what you are saying, assuming the worst possible combination of hypothetical events (taken to an extreme degree) and then worry, "what will we do?" I'm sure it's a form of mental stimulation for him. Note that I am not talking about pending or likely events. I'm talking about purposely imagining every worst hypothetical, no matter how unlikely or how little info there is on that hypothetical.

Update posted today by Tony Aiello (the actual attorney handling the case). Good summary of where things stand:

"Second… We still have a permanent injunction against 114. This stands unless we lose in the Supreme Court. If we do lose, the March 15, 2026 (yesterday)—which was set by SB 243 (2025) is no longer the enforcement date due to the amendments in HB 4145. However, Gov. Kotek hasn't signed that bill yet. If she does sign, the new date will be Jan. 1, 2028. If she doesn't sign, the injunction will stand unless we lose in the Oregon Supreme Court. There would be *some* lag time between losing and enforcement, but not much.

Last… the Federal case in the 9th Circuit remains paused behind Duncan v. Bonta. Keep an eye on SCOTUS on that case and Gator's Custom Guns as well. Both cases only deal with the magazine ban 1/2 of Ballot Measure 114, but the federal case has been parked until those cases are decided."
