In Central Oregon last night. Possibly historical. I don't remember anything this long and intense in all my time here.

Thunder was non - stop for a good part of it, with house shaking, simultaneous lighting/thunder for a good part of it.

I have not heard of any lightning strikes on structures but there no doubt had to be some.

Lots of rain also, and I have heard reports of 1/4" measured by some.

The west coast doesn't see thunderstorms like back east very often.

I seen some real bangers when I was in Va Beach and down in Florida, seen an up close and personal strike in Fl, that sucked.
There was a real bad one while I was in Memphis, lots of rain, wind and hail with it.
Then all of a sudden it just got quiet, till the siren and we all had to haul bubblegum to the basement and wait it out.
Tornados suck too.

Shucks! Welcome to Texas! I for one love thunderstorms and lightning, unlike one of my pups. Moved here in '21 and unlike Oregon one can often see horizon to horizon. I will often go out onto the porch and just watch it rain and storm. Sometimes the dogs will come into my bedroom and wake me up, and I'll get up and go out and watch it storm.

I put solar lights on my fence around the back yard. They are a bit weak anymore, but when there is lightning in the area and it flashes, my solar lights light up bright and then go out. Electricity in the air!

Not to make light(no pun intended) of the storms cause as you can see in the news, sometimes the rain can cause deep flooding and deaths. The current flooding is about 50+ miles NW of me. It rained here but wasn't as bad as that. Dips and swales in the roads out here are dangerous after heavy rains, yet people STILL try to drive through them. Happy 4th, and be safe.

I miss the central/eastern oregon thunder storms. Been in the valley nearly 40 years now.
My wife was from Salem when I met her. I would tell her that Oregon doesn't have thunderstorms and we would banter back and forth. Took her into Northern Kentucky and stayed in her aunt's house directly over the Ohio River. A big storm was coming up river and then lightning was striking the bridge, and the city across the river 200 yds away. Went on for a full hour. She just sat there with her mouth open, and finally said that she agreed with me! (That was the last time she let me win an argument.....were married for 35 years after that!

Yeah, storms in the valley are usually pretty weak. I used to laugh when the meteorologists would get excited that we got 1/4" all day today! Always thought I had to run around to get wet there!

We lucked out & missed the massive thunderstorms. Had a few minutes of hail tho. Must have been just on the edge of the converging weather.

Hope everyone / everyone's property made it thru allrite.
