First off, this is not an off body carry debate thread or, I'm to macho for a Murse thread! Do that in your own thread! This is simply a product recommendation for those, who like me, find it hard to EDC during warmer weather.

I just received my sling bag for use during this warmer weather. I love to just throw on a t-shirt and light shorts and most often, carrying my EDC is difficult to say the least. So, from a recommendation, I ordered this bag from Amazon yesterday and received it today.

First impression is that it is well made and robust! All zippers functioned without hiccup and there are no fraying strands to be noted. I adjusted the supplied holster and it works great for my P365XL setup. Trigger guard is covered and after adjusting bag for fit, I found it quite speedy to pull the firearm if it is ever needed. No hangups and I can see lots of summer days carrying this way! 😁 I'll do an end of summer review after using it, but at this point, I'd recommend it. It is a really nice size and will carry everything I need for a day out. Not a bad investment @ $30 IMHO.

Thanks for the post.
I ended up buying this bag, only in gray, after reading the reviews on amazon.
I normally pocket carry itty-biddy guns but that sucks when bicycle riding, as the gun flops around as you peddle.

I have test fit most of the guns I intend to carry in it.
I use the supplied "holster" for midsize guns (sig p250, etc.) but had to make a cut-out in the stiff strap to clear the mag release.
For those itty-biddy guns I just wrap the supplied "holster" around a kydex holsters I already have.
I did a few other mods but know I mod everything.

M-tac has a pricier model that seems to be made with better material/zippers and may be considered, depending on the function and durability of this $31- model.
JMO,
thanks again,
.

Men & women around here are wearing all kinds of waist packs and sling bags. I would recommend modifying a common outdoor or athletic brand one instead of something that has an obvious 5.11/vertx/eberlestock logo on it. You can get a kydex trigger guard holster if you have a glock, and sew in a loop to attach that to. Don't carry stuff you use often like keys or wallets in the same compartment. Dress casually to match. If a boomer doesn't like it, you can entertain yourself watching them regress into a childlike meltdown.

Edit: Often in town I'll just keep first aid/CPR gear in there instead if I'll be away from my car. The chances of a good shoot are lower than coming across a heart attack, anaphylactic shock etc

The ole lady has 3 carry purses, still looking for more.
I have a sling bag for carrying a laptop and lunch on the Harley.
They last about 6-8 months of daily use, then unravel.

Me, I use a shoulder rig.

Okay. I bought this shoulder bag. It's decent, but it is also large/cumbersome/bulky.
If I was in the woods, it would not be questioned. In a more social setting, I think eyes would be drawn to this bag and folks would wonder why I'm carrying a parachute under my arm.
Other than using it as a grab and go bag, I don't see myself using it. But I will continue to experiment to see if I can find a purpose.

Nope. I am sending it back.;)

I got the exact same bag a month ago and it's well designed and made. When the weather got warmed I started wearing gym shorts a lot and while they have pockets, a wallet, keys, and a cell phone really stick out. I looked at fanny packs, but I'd constantly be hitching it up. The small sling bag to me is the best of both worlds.

I looked at a lot of different similar setups, but the ones from Vertx (LOVE Vertx) and the other better tactical companies to me just telegraphed what they were too easily. Thursday out daughter came over and saw it and decided she needed one for her upcoming Vegas trip before she found out it had a built in quick access pistol compartment.

Before I used it to carry I went sans pistol to see if there were any negative responses. Turned out I never got to use my "I'm just starting to transition and this is my training purse" line because not only did nobody notice I saw a fair amount of similar bags out there. I had just never noticed them before. My Shield fits perfectly.

Not sitting on a wallet all the time is great and some of my hip pain has gone away.

To me, off-body carry is worse than carrying with a dry chamber. Too many steps involved, too goofy looking and the murse is a whole other target for thieves.
Even the instructor says he doesn't prefer it. But what I like about him is he is willing to make it as efficient for his students that do and wants to work with them.

I too don't like or advise people to carry in a cross body bag. I even say it to my wife who carries that way occasionally. But if they are going to carry that way they should know the inherent risks and extra steps.

In my opinion it gives the bad guys for opportunities/real estate to grab on to. Also more chances of something going bad in a real world hands on scenario. It's not YouTube where you will be able to draw and present every time. I think expectations are unrealistic.

But it's comfortable…. I have the same outlook on cross body bags as I do pocket carry. But people should do what they want. It's their life.

Agreed. If it makes them feel better go for it.
