Looking for vid/info on how to mount a one-piece scope mount. LR 308

Anyone have a video or information on how to properly mount a single piece scope mount on an AR10/LR308? I have a nikon 308 scope and it came with nice single piece base. What is the best way to mount the mount for proper eye relief? I have watched several videos but they all start with the mounts secured to the rifle. My scope is a 4x16 if that makes a diff. Thanks.
