Legal to fish with fish trap in WA?

    Didn't see any regs in the wdfw booklet prohibiting it for general fishing. People may think I'm crabbing or shrimping, since it does it all, but I release what's not in season. Want to make sure it's legal. Please cite or link source.

    How about page 4 of the WDFW fishing regs, under the heading: "Gear Rules?"

    I believe the only species you can legally use a trap for in freshwaters is crayfish.
