Now that's an interesting Elsie! What is the serial and do all numbers match? Am I correct that the barrel marks indicate it started life as a Field grade gun? Do you know who did the engraving, and when... it's nice work, and consistent with L. C. Smith style engraving, but doesn't seem to match any of the illustrations in Houchins' book. Would appreciate more complete photo coverage of the forearm, stock, & all markings.
