KelTec grip extension failure

I fired my trusty KelTec P3AT this morning and on the first shot the floor plate broke off and the magazine emptied into my hand.

This grip extension is a KelTec accessory and really helped control the jump of this small pistol. The downside of this is that the recoil transfers the weak point of the floor plate.

Kel Tec has really good customer service. My bet is that they replace it free of charge.

I am actually going back to the standard floor plate after this for reliability reasons (unless they have improved the design.) The also have a 1-round extension and a 9-round magazine. If the 9-round is not attached in the same fashion I would consider using that. I may just ask for a second standard magazine.

It has now been a full week waiting for a reply to my e-mail.
In the e-mail I requested a call; nothing.

It's been years, but when I called them, they shipped me a new part post haste.

I dealt with their customer service a couple years ago and it was a good experience, they were quick to ship a replacement part.

Still?!?!?!?! Around 2008-2009 I had a P3aT that was having extraction issues, they mailed me a free extractor asap.

I visited the KelTec place in Cocoa, FL several years ago. Met their test shooter, he shoots about 50,000 rounds a month. What a job! Or was that per week!
