Figured an introduction was the proper thing to do, so hi. Washington dude born and raised. About as American as you can get from my generation lol. 20 as of march this year. i have loved firearms ever since i could remember. thanks to my grandfather i grew up with an education on WW1 and WW2 (specifically firearms) and now that I'm in the position to collect them, i am. Prefer older military firearms over all the modern market tactical soul-less plinkers, but thats just my opinion;)

Welcome, I am probably biased but a inexpensive firearm to get in to that is gaining classic status is the SKS.
Once more of a dime store rifle is now in the early stages of what could be collectable and at around 350.00 they are still
very affordable even for the entry level. Of course from there one can move up the ladder to M1's and many others.
I am mentioning rifles because you said you are 20 so being rifles are what you can basically buy the SKS is a great starter
classic in my opinion. I am biased as I said as I have a small group that are SKS enthusiasts and truly love those rifles.
Great people on this site. Have Fun.:)

Thanks for the advice, I do want an sks after i get an m91/30. I'm hesitent to buy russian pattern/that-general-area rifles just yet. with trump in office firearm/trade bans may be lifted that could cause the prices to favorably drop for the higher quality ones

it is tough, i guess it depends on its main use. i chose the 1991 as a compromise because it is the closest to the original pattern i can afford, while being new enough for casual fire / self defense use (god forbid ide ever have to use it for that)

Thank you for the gun porn. Nice looking guns.

Welcome to the forum... Nice to see a young guy who likes "old" guns.
Speaking of old guns and seeing as how you like Springfield Armory firearms...
We have a 1808 dated Springfield musket , you can shoot or my 1879 "Trapdoor" rifle as well.
Again welcome!

That's an impressive starting collection :) I agree with you on the AR - like them, love them, hate them or tolerate them, I think it's important right now that as many Americans own one as possible - it gives us far more bargaining power in the courts when a gun and it's parts become so "common".

And welcome to the forum :)

Welcome.
You look to have a good start on your collection.

Now just to help you understand where your loyalties lye.

Don't go confusing Springfield Armory the maker of US military Firearms from 1777-1968.
With ''Springfield Armory'' the company that licensed the name in 1974 and still produces guns today.

They make great guns. So no reason not to like them. They just have no historic connection to the M1 you own. ;)

Also. Don't be too quick to sell off the 1903.
The things we do at 20, frustrate the heck out of us when we look back at 50. :s0108:

i don't want to sell it, but with money being how it is I'm trying to get a 1903 (not a3 or mk1) stock variant "s" with the grasping grooves. their price is rising (as they will) so that extra 700 or so ill get from my remi a3 will help a lot
