I am about done. I did order some mags for an RXM that I want to get in the next month or so.

There is one gun that I wanted to buy that was cheap, but in order to have my minimum supply of at least 9 mags for it, would cost more than the gun.

I have a dozen mags each for every double stack pistol that I have, along with 6 Happy Sticks for each.

I just bought a new rifle. I will need to get 3 more mags for it. If I am able to in a couple of weeks, then I will. I currently have 6. Funds got low, ya know.

I always wanted a chrome finished Taurus Beretta clone. I may buy some mags for that. But, other than that, I really don't have anything on my radar. Maybe a 10 pack of Alien Green AR mags, and maybe some AK mags for an AK pistol that I may want to get in the future. But that's it.

If tha ban goes into effect tomorrow, well I wouldn't really mind too much as I
have everything I need.

Don't forget AK bakelite mags for that vintage look if you have the coin.
And for the AK :
Chinese flat back
Russian aluminum waffle tanker
Bulgarian Circle 10
Russian slab side
and several other desirable AK mags

Hey, thanks. I will probably start off with some steel ones. I am ordering some more cases for the incoming mags as well. I have a few guns I want to get. First the RXM and then maybe the AK.

It is amazing just how much a couple pieces of stamp steel and a spring can cost.

A few years ago I got a really nice Savage 19-33 NRA rifle...circa 1946.
Beautiful rifle , shoots wonderfully , carries nicely....only came with one magazine.

After a long search...I found a place that sells quality magazines for it.
I bought two sets of two magazines...each set had a 5 round and 10 round magazine at $80 a set....
Looking at that website now...the price is $100 a set.

I understand that my rifle is out of production...and of course there is the whole process of producing the magazines...
If they ain't in high demand...it may cost more to make something in the long run.

However...no matter how well they do work...and they do work well...
They still are nothing but stamped steel and a spring.
In any event...I will start saving up to get a couple more....what with Washington's wonderful AG ( now governor ) and firearm laws..who knows what will be banned next.

I was in an email conversation with a guy from ACT-Mag talking about the chances of him bringing a certain SIG mag to market.
If I recall correctly he told me that it would cost him about $200,000 for the tooling and development of the new mag.
Seems like a lot, but that's what I remember.

For what I currently own, I'm fairly stocked up now, (Beyond what I can use in a lifetime).
It's just gluttonous at this point (for me). Which is good, I'm actually content with what I have for the firearms I own.. which is shocking, never thought I'd be at that point.
Right there with you. Growing up a po' kid and being an inveterate gun nut, I never thought I'd get there either. But we are. Sure, I check Gunbroker from time to time, ponder wacky projects, and soon our kiddos will be of age to have their own firearms, but the reality is the bases are more than covered. I went through a phase some years back where the collection was very fluid indeed, but that time and mindset is past.

On the flip side, while I have pondered selling off items we aren't using and likely won't in any big way, I hesitate for various reason. In this nutbar-run state, who knows what will be the next anti-RKBA law. Also the dollar just doesn't buy all that much anymore either. (And, while relatively minor, dumping guns isn't as easy as it used to be.) Once we've resettled elsewhere and we begin that next phase of life, however, I'll likely jettison some firearms and parts.

Oh, what's one more? Kidding ... kinda. 🤪

Is where I found my Savage magazines.
Pricey...but excellent service and fast shipping.

Edit to add :
Would love to find and buy a couple or a few more late GI issue 1911 magazines...
or just some good quality basic GI type 7 round 1911 magazines...that don't cost an arm or a leg.
Andy
I had bought some Triple K 7 round mags that were blue steel GI pattern. Even the followers. I was really impressed. And they were about 11 bucks each. I gave them to my son and he likes them as well. The bottoms say Colt 45 Auto. Bass Pro sells them.

Lots of reasons

1) got your stuff before covid, obama, etc and don't need more
2) got your "last gun" during the start of the 114 panic
3) moving to America instead of people's republic of Oregon
4) less interested in guns after getting your main stuff
5) could be like me been buying only guns the last 10 years and want to enjoy other hobbies you haven't put money in
6) economy
Lots of reasons, tbh with me i probably have bought mainly guns not mags here, but got better deals on GB, friends, etc. With no sales taxes its easier to get online deals in oregon, plus the mags there's a lot of places to get good deals on mags and many stocked up on mags for guns they want like I did. Plus when I sold mags here they wouldn't sell here fast but same price with shipping added would sell other fourms so I stopped listing a lot here as I got specialized stuff or more collectable stuff (m16a1 mags galil, ak74, rare markings etc). I bought mags for 10+ years here I'm fine with what I have till im officially out

I was looking through the NWFA classifieds at magazines and there are tons available, many at reasonable prices. I would think with a mag ban potentially imminent that they would all be getting scooped up.

Has everybody got their fill of magazines. If not what are you waiting on before you start your mag shopping?

I have 300+ mags.

The only mags I am thinking I need are a few spares that are won't be impacted by 114, like one or two for:

Browning BLR
Ishapore Enfield
etc.

Well, I'm out of the game. I am having more health issues and I need to put my money toward that. So I'm done. Turns out I may have something more serious than the doctors and I had thought. So I'm back to square one.

I am going to get my affairs in order in case I croak in the near future. I need to set my wife up so that she is taken care of, but the houses will remain in the ownership of my son when I'm gone. I need to my sure that my step kids don't get anything. They wouldn't know how to handle it.

My wife is leaving her share of her family's property to her son, so he will be ok.

The problem is with my daughter/stepdaughter, whatever I'm supposed to call her. She is actually mentally retarded, but not so retarded that they would take her kids away. She's smart enough to suck the system for mass benefits, but not smart enough to function in the real world financially.

If she got a house after our deaths, she would lose her SSI eventually and other benefits. And then my grand kids would be screwed. My daughter gets more per month in snap benefits than my wife and I spend on groceries in a month. She gets like $650.00 a month. And she does certain things that she thinks she's not going to get caught doing with her benefits and other things that could get her kicked off of her benefits anyway, or at least she has in the past. Or so I have heard from other family members. It's stuff that I don't want to know about tbh.

Sorry to hear that. So when you say out of the game, you just mean no more buying? Or are you selling out and calling it quits with the hobby? Whatever you decide i wish the best for you.
