I don't need to. They wrote it the way they did for a reason. That was the part I wasn't saying out loud. Don't give them any ideas.

Haha...I have a copy of both the Seattle Times and the P.I. from that date (Seattle used to have two papers).Yeah, I need to take pics of mine next to my register guard from Sep 12, 2001. That will definitively prove it.
Which maker puts a date code on their mags? Out of curiosity I got a couple handfuls of Glock mags out and I can't find a date code on any of them. Checked mags made by Ruger and same. ??The good thing is that I do have enough receipts that I can provide the affirmative defense. That is important with the magpies as they have date codes on the mags. But yeah, you guys that have the ability to drive to free states, more power to ya!
Magpul does. I know that.Which maker puts a date code on their mags? Out of curiosity I got a couple handfuls of Glock mags out and I can't find a date code on any of them. Checked mags made by Ruger and same. ??
If I go to pick up some next time we visit the kids in a free state I will have to watch for that. Can just see asking the shop "hey you have any of these that are old?"Magpul does. I know that.
Or just buy them and dremel the date off. It's plastic….If I go to pick up some next time we visit the kids in a free state I will have to watch for that. Can just see asking the shop "hey you have any of these that are old?"![]()

Huh?Lol.
Cosmopolis is closer. Save on your gas.
Any ya don't have to have family to take a "vacation" to a free state.Idaho. Arizona. Montana.
All within driving distance. And I have family there. I'm not panicking.
Been trying to order some Ruger P89 mags. Seems like they have been out of stock most everywhere. I did find them at Midway, tried ordering them but they will not ship to Oregon. I sent them an email stating that this has not become law yet. They returned with a reply that it was their policy not to ship to Oregon. Thank you very much. This morning, I checked with Mag Shack and behold they are back in stock. Placed an order right away. Mag Shack and Mag Warehouse are great to do business with. Sorry Midway you have lost my business.Gun wise, I now have almost everything I want or need. Still a couple of pistols and a rifle left to go. Not gonna worry about it as the ones I have left aren't. 'High Cap". I will get a couple more AK mags and then I'm done. An AK May or may not happen. I do like AR's better though. Maybe I will compromise and get an SKS and sell the AK mags or trade them to remove the temptation.
If I get my Marshall Stack sold this week, I may be able to get another gun and some more mags. The problem is that I can't lift the cabinets.
When I tried to order mags from Midway about a year ago and got a similar response, I made the same decision. If they can't be bothered to keep tabs and help us out, cuz it really wouldn't be all that hard, I won't be bothered spending my money with them.. Sorry Midway you have lost my business.
We should find out out about the date by the end of the week. I don't yet know if you have been following. But, HB4145, which implements measure 114, could kick everything back to Jan 1 2028, perhaps including the mag ban. It has an amendment that is getting read tomorrow and could be reread and back to the house by Friday. I would say we will find out by early next week. What was this so-called date for the mag cut off that now makes it illegal for the affirmative defense, and how serious is this really? Or does it depend on where you live in Oregon? Because I can't see a Prosecutor outside of Portland going after someone who lawfully uses their gun in self-defense, just to get them on a misdemeanor. It strikes me as an incredibly petty waste of taxpayer money.
Thanks to this goddamn thing, I've actually considered buying a Commander 1911 in .45 and carrying that, instead of a high-cap 9mm. But I might not bother if it's low on the spectrum.

This answered my questions perfectly, thank you. It is so hard to keep up with this stuff, and I'll no doubt be asking again in the future too.We should find out out about the date by the end of the week. The good thing is that if it gets passed and the permit and mag ban amendment get passed, they won't be implemented until Jan 1st of 2028. This will be good because if the Supreme Court rules the way we want, it all goes away. If they don;t, it should buy us more time to buy mags and file new suits. That is just my understanding. We could even push for more exemptions from permitting for anyone ever in the military or a CCW holder.
If we can get a republican governor, we may be able to lessen the impact or at least have the governor veto any more tomfoolery that comes forward. So, hopefully this will pass in favor of us keeping our mags and no permits for awhile at least. If it does not, then one possible outcome may be a halt to gun sales in the state without a system for the permitting process to occur, and a lot of FFL's could go under, especially the ones buying inventory on credit. All just speculation for now.
HB4145 was Rep Kropf's bill. His baby. And after what happened with the vote a week or two ago, those of us that submitted testimony and Attorney Derek L were able to get Kropf publicly removed from one committee and quietly removed from another.
I read somewhere that the permitting process infrastructure has already been funded. But now it seems that they can't implement it even if they want to. So, I want to know, where did the money go? It was millions of dollars.
