Well, I am just about done buying mags. I really don't need anymore for the guns that I have, but there are a few I want to get for guns that I don't have yet.

I got a Ruger RXM a few weeks ago. I had not G19 mags. The gun came with two 15 round Magpul mags. I bought a ten pack of KCI G19 mags and ten of the Amend 2 polymer mags. The KCI mags were 10 bucks each and the Amend 2 mags were $7.49 each. I also got three ETS G19 mags for $7.49 each. So that is 25 mags for that one gun. I think that is plenty for that one pistol.

I am looking at a Ruger Security 9. It is less than 300 bucks, like $269.00. It comes with two mags, but to get to my magic minimum of 6 mags, I would have to spend another another hundred bucks on mags. If I want a total of ten mags I want to have a total of 10 mags I will have to spend $200 bucks above the price of the gun. So I am looking at $469.00 for the gun and another ro to 100 bucks for a holster for it, so I would be looking at over $500.00 total. Because of that, I am considering just getting a second RXM.

I also want to get an RXM for my son. I can get another 10 pack of KCI mags that hold 15 rounds and a few more MecGar 18 round mags and give half of those mags to my son, along with a few KCI ten rounders. The cash outlay is roughly the same as getting the other gun, by the time I get all those extra mags. Maybe a little more after I find another OWB leather holster. Getting another RXM makes sense to me, more so that buying a whole other platform.

I will have all the mags that I will ever need before the magical "Date of Doom" in March of next year when 114 is supposed to go into effect.

I have enough "Platforms" that shoot 9mm. I have Beretta 92, Glock19X/Ruger RXM, Sig P320 and P365. The Sig P320 Compact I have is just a range gun/house gun. For each of those platforms, I have multiple mags. But, there just aren't really anymore platforms that I want to get that hold greater than 10 rounds. It's nice to be almost done with acquiring mags. Really, I just see maybe another 10 pack of mags for AR and AK and a 10 pack of Glock mags by the end of the year. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

There are 10 mags in each of the tan ammo cans that have pistol mags in them and two each have 6 rifle mags in them.and the black/red cases each hold 50 double stack mags. One of the black cases is full and the other has 10 open spaces. My count is now at about 180 mags. I've got about 30 more to get.

I started out last year with one pistol, 3 mags and 2 boxes of ammo.

Considering the poor track record of those mags, you may not be done buying mags.

Genuine Glock mags are cheap and Pmag Glock mags are cheaper yet.
For P320 there's Pmags now and the excellent Italian ACT-Mag 3209

I've had good luck with the 30rd ETS mags for Glock and S&W M&P mags. I only used them in my PCC at speed steel matches though. That said, you really shouldn't cheap out on mags. The P320 ACT-Mags are great "cheap" mags and performed no different than the factory mags (100% reliable) in my 320's.

Some of the cheap mags can be made to run reliable if you don't mind a bit of sweat equity and up for a challenge. As always, YMMV

All those mags I tested ran great. The KCI ones are fully steel lined like the OEM Glock mags and I have used those for years without fail. That said, I would only trust the KCI or OEM mags for carry.

I don't trust the Magpul mags. They will eventually bulge if you leave them loaded for a long period of time, at least that has been my experience with some of their mags. Others on other forums have had the Magpul swell like the original non lined Glock mags.

Good to know about KCI. I've always wondered about their quality and it's good to hear experience from someone locally.
I had the same issue with my 10rd Magpul G19 mags so those were tossed.

I don't recall ever using KCI magazines in a Glock. The 15 and 30 rounders for the M1 and M2 carbines run like a top though.

I really can't tell the difference between my. 33 round KCI and 33 Round Glock, ant least the black ones, unless I look at the bottom of the base plates.

The KCI have functioned flawlessly in my Glock and Beretta.
