Stumbled on a story about this stump the other day.

It is near an old lumber mill in Juneau used to build a very large dam back in about 1915.

Apparently the area was used for target shooting and the brass hammered in the stump as a tradition perhaps.

That's interesting. I like traditions that carry down and pass through generations of unknown people.

Like seeing rock stacks in the middle of a forest.
