In truth though, he may be right about the backdoor, and Apple is just fabricating the foundation for plausible deniability.
From their cold dead hands....
Will be drawn their finger biometrics before their phone locks...from this point forward.

I am siding with Apple on this one. I have absolutely no love for the fact that there are methods by which bad people can communicate that can't be tracked by the government. As much as that sucks donkey doo, I am getting tired of the government reaching way to far into the lives of everyone. I fear that if a way to compromise the phone was devised/delivered, it would be used against regular citizens, illegally. One thing we know is that the government cannot be trusted to restrain itself - it proves over and over again that given and inch they will take a mile, more like hundreds of f'ing miles.
Find another damn way to track these folks and leave us what very little privacy we actually have.
And besides, if they want to see my glorious nude selfies, they're just going to have to pay for it like everyone else
Oof, I was was right along with you just fine, until the last sentence! Ooof.

I don't care about the politics or the fact that Apple can hack the device. Get the information. By ANY MEANS NECESSARY. If it saves the life of just ONE American, it was worth it.
Everything Apple does is for marketing. Tim Cook did not need to make his public statement, he did it to make himself and Apple a hero in some eyes. He could have simply said "no" and kept quiet but he wanted the publicity. Besides, why would anyone believe that Apple doesn't have this backdoor already given the amount of data they, along with Google, FaceBook and others collect.
Apple is a HUGE RIPOFF. Apple is a marketing machine that takes in 94% of all smartphone profits but only accounts for 15% of the smartphone market, which means you are getting overcharged big time just so you can say "I have an iPhone".

I didn't say that at all. I said Apple is a ripoff and cares little about your privacy. What is the problem with using the government for promoting it's product?

The code is more than just a 4 digit.
10 failed attempts and the data on the device is locked... I doubt they used a 4 digit passcode. Mine is set for 6 digit, or you better use my thumbprint.
