SportingS,

Yah lost me on the 'Common Courtesy' advise.

By 'Common Courtesy' are you suggesting the shooter with a muzzle brake ask if he 'can shoot his braked rifle' (though he's paid for his membership which says zero about shooting braked rifles) or always sit/stand far away from others at the range or what?

I'm quite sincere...

Thanks
If you know, you have a blaster that impacts folks negetively in nearby vicinity, inform them or ask, or select a space away from others if that's an options. I've been stuck along side some MB equipped guns for the entirety of a class, shooting prone next to them, shooting from inside a vehicle. I could not make the same quality shots in a timed stage, because of the blast hitting me directly in the face. Courtesy, being aware of your impact on others, safety, courtesy, whatever you want to classify it as.

Now if you walk into a place, do your things and don't care about others, not much one can do about that. Does your range membership require you to be courteous, nope.

I have numerous machine guns, If Im going to let the M2 or M240 bark, I'll kindly give notice to those around.

My 'range' is at my son's cabin, remote and at the edge of a couple million acres wilderness, if I do shoot somewhere else it's never around people, and we put our shooting rug down to make sure we don't leave brass behind. Don't get me wrong, I can see where they'd be almost indispensable, just not for me currently

Yeah, could we get some punctuation thrown into the above?

I'm quite happy that others took up the mantle of explaining the concept of Common Courtesy.

...mainly because I knew any explanation from me would have been a wasted effort.

Last time I was at the range , the shooter next to me had some sort of pistol with muzzle brake.
LOUD does not begin to describe it....I actually flinched when he was shooting it...as I said loud .

I guess I should feel bad after I touched off my Hawken...and he started coughing from the black powder smoke...
I should feel bad.....but.....I .....don't....:D

I get the "why" behind muzzle breaks...and don't have an issue with them....just haven't shot at range with 'em for a while.
So gotta get used to other folks and their foolishness.....:D
Kidding here....it is a public range....all I really ask is that you shoot safe...and pick up after yourself.
Andy
A good muzzle break. Is only good for the shooter. I have one on my 300 win mag. Ear protection is required, BUT, it has virtually no recoil. I can shoot it from the bench without holding on to it. And it stays right there. It is my minute of apple at 500 yds.
