I Died Today by Duke Roberts is the touching look at a dogs last day on Earth. If you're a dog lover you'll want to have a tissue handy while you watch this because it'll bring a tear to your eye. Duke's family and friends truly loved him so they wanted to make his last day as fun and special as they possibly could. Duke got to eat as many hamburgers as he wanted, go for a car ride, play in the spash park, and say goodbye to his family.

Since I like dogs more than most humans, I have a hard time with sad pet stories. Most people are selfish, self-centered, deluded ingrates (not cynical at all lol). Dogs are just dogs, but they have a lot of love to offer unconditionally.

I will say the vast majority of cats/dogs lead horrible lives, so if you are person who has given a great pet a good long happy life there shouldn't be a lot of weeping when the time comes to say goodbye. Celebrate all you did to make your pet's life a good one. It is a time to be a bit selfish for yourself emotionally - to acknowledge that you were a great friend to an animal.

Pets today have it rough. Youth today care far more about their texting than they ever could for their Terrier.
The boy and his dog has been replaced by the boy and his Xbox.

The Rainbow Bridge
inspired by a Norse legend

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.
