I carry a 1911, I just use it as a club.

I always carry at least 1 spare mag. Odds of a mag failure aren't that high, but if it DOES happen and it's your only mag, you'll be in a world of hurt.

I don't carry so no ammo. I do have an AR 7 with extra ammo hidden in my truck for off road excursions or survival needs. 100 rounds plus 3 or four full mags.

However here's my question. How does a member post on here at 1:43 PM and get 24 answers by 6:00 PM? Do any of you guys work?

I carry a combination.

Primary pistol- the mag thats in it and 5 spares. Up to 90 rds. Thats 9mm. The 1911 gets me 55rds

Bug- just the mag thats in it. Up to 13rds. Little bug gets me 11rds.

Magazine in handgun & always 1 (or more) backup magazines on me. Depends.

Not just because of the possibility of NEEDING the extra ammunition in a backup magazine, but also because of the POSSIBILITY (although unlikely) of magazine failure.

Restricted magazine capacity State? Might up that. Depends.

I carry a Colt Series '70 Government Model in .45ACP....
One round in the chamber...7 round magazine in the pistol.
One or two extra magazines depending on my mood of the day....

I don't carry at work...I work at a school...and I enjoy being employed.

Full mag in pistol. 2 extra mags, and a box of ammo in my day pack. I don't imagine ever needing extra mags, but started doing it when protestors started blocking streets a few years ago. It goes to show how quickly things can dissolve to chaos. Figured it would be good to have if you need to fight through a crowd.
