Since I was a kid, I've been told that there are 242 lead pellets in an ounce of #6's, however, looking at shot weight charts on the net recently, all I pretty much see is that 225 #6 lead pellets make an ounce.
So which one is correct, 242 or 225?

Has anyone actually weighed out the shot and know for sure?

...not sure if this belongs here or in the reloading section, so I will repost there, as well.

Number of pellets will also vary with the percentage of antimony mixed in the lead to give it hardness. More antimony is less weight means you need more pellets to make one ounce.
