Regarding the statistics comments, I would say the 1-5 group is skewed.
When the poll says your vote will be public I didn't realize it actually attached your screen name to your vote. Once I saw that I tried to un-vote but you can't so that, so I changed my vote to the 1-5 category. Not accurate, but the only choice I want my name attached to if I can't un-vote.

This too, and it may also apply to the 6-10 guns group.
The only way to beat the stat is to buy more! I didn't know that it attached my user name to the poll either fwiw. It matters little to me now but I understand how others feel. I've spent most of my adult life keeping below the radar but one day I came to the realization that there are millions and millions of us gun owners and I'm a nobody to the people who would want to seize/register/ban them. I also have a very modest collection and most of my guns are antiques. Plus they'll never know when I'll just sell out and move on to another hobby like crocheting or polo. One thing is pretty for certain, if you're on the forum you are definitely interested and more then likely an owner.

I guess I am just am just in a high enough category that I assume I am on every list ever anyway. I have NFA stuff, black powder (though I am still new to that) and everything in between. I have put double digit numbers on a 4473. I have built things from kits. I am working on getting the shop together enough to build stuff from raw steel. If I'm not on some list that would be surprising to me. People knowing that I have a lot just seems like a given.

Now if I could just find the time to shoot everything. . .

Whoa, I didn't realize that. I just re-voted and skewed the stats myself. I wrongly figured it was an anonymous poll. Thanks for pointing this out.

Well, after this weekend I will have just a few. I am passing them on early to my son. I just had a health scare that indicates I won't be here much longer. I almost died yesterday and it doesn't look good. But it's been going this way for years.
Earlier this year, my nearly life-long pal who lives in NM thought he was going to die soon. So he gave his guns to a friend there in NM. Then my friend recovered. He's had second thoughts about giving his guns away. He's talked to the recipient of his guns; the guy won't give them back. So it might be wise to not do any thing precipitously.

Well, they would all go to my son. But instead of coming down to take them, he;s bringing me another gun. That's not a good friend your friend had.

Just curious what the average collection size is like for most of you on the forum (even if they're on the bottom of the lake). I'm wondering if my collection is starting to become an addiction or if I'm just a gunaholic like others on here!
How many do I have?
Enough to party.

As to whether your collection is starting to become an addiction or not, there's a pretty simple way to tell - if you're spending money on guns instead of paying the bills or dealing with the other responsibilities in your life, you have a problem. If you're not in that situation, you're overthinking it.

What, me overthinking? Nah. I don't do that more than a dozen times a day!

I found that once I quit hookers and blow, I had more money for guns👍 JKOC

The meds and labs don't cost me much. But damn, they can be so incompetent at times.
If it's any consolation, it's not just the VA. My hunting buddy got bit by a tick a few years back. He basically diagnosed himself and finally demanded the doctor give him antibiotics for Lyme disease. Another friend's girlfriend almost died from a misdiagnosis. He told me, "That's why they call it PRACTICING medicine." Ouch.

Glad to hear you sound a little more positive about your future. Hang in there man.

Soon to be one more!
I mentioned in the thread Impulse Buy that I wanted a Mark I Target. Found one on Gunbroker and threw up a bid last week. Found out a couple of minutes ago that I "won" it!
