Was that pattern (not the flower) on the barrel man made or some natural process in the metal over the years?

Just natural patina through wear and use.
There is also silver inlay / wash on the metal engraving .

I am not one to just collect. Others are free to do as they wish. If it doesn't get used I don't keep it.

That's the great thing about this country.

Before the laws hosed us I LOVED buying something, play a while, when something new would catch my interest I would sell one to buy another. Those days are sadly long gone. Now a LOT of what I would love to try I can't have here. Also since not willing to take a hit on the money don't sell anymore. So ended up with more at one time than I have ever had in my life. Sure do miss the buying and selling though

According to me - not enough, but OTOH enough for now.

In the last year or two I have slowed way down in my acquisition of guns - the last gun I bought was Oct 2024; a SIG 226 for a price I couldn't let pass, just because - even though I had three already - now four.

I don't really need more. Indeed, by most criteria applicable to me, I have more than enough - but I wouldn't mind more. For now, I have other things/tasks/etc. that I need/want to spend funds/time/effort on instead.

My son called me today. He is not coming to take my guns yet. He said he is bringing me a shotgun that he got a really good deal on. He will be down in a day or two. He says he will wait to get my guns until I actually do croak.

I made the right decision to stop those meds. I have appointments tomorrow. My heart rate and rhythm is completely normal. I wish I could sue the VA and get a bunch of money and take a nice cruise with my wife, or my granddaughter to Disney World, but they would kick me off benefits I'm sure. And, it really is all I have for healthcare.

The meds and labs don't cost me much. But damn, they can be so incompetent at times.
